Mr. and Mrs. Darrell T. Whiddon announce the engagement of their daughter Dara Lynn to Mr. Matthew J. Rieger, son of Mr. Eric Rieger and Mrs. Kathy Yasko of Knoxville, Tenn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Margie Whiddon and the late Mr. J.T. Whiddon of Tift County and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence H. Groover of Smyrna. She is the great-granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard T. Graver of Smyrna, Mr. and Mrs. Early K. Brewer of Tombs County, Mr. and Mrs. Walton J. Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. B. Lee Whiddon of Tift County. She is a graduate of North Georgia College & State University and is employed with Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Zoe Rieger and the late Mr. Gene Rieger of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mrs. Helen Wade and the late Mr. James Wade of Columbia, Tenn. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and is on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 4 in the chapel of First Baptist Church, Social Circle.
