Mrs. Clara Anita Maynard, 93, of Covington, died July 25. The daughter of the late John and Annie Mae (Hammonds) Mitchell, she was born in 1915 in Fulton County. Mrs. Maynard moved to the Covington area 37 years ago from Atlanta. She was a member of Mayson Methodist Church, Atlanta, and was a member of the Eastern Star, Center Hill Chapter and Leland Chapter. Mrs. Maynard was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mr. James L. Maynard, daughter Marianne Lingold, and daughter-in-law Barbara Maynard.

Surviving are son James B. Maynard Sr.; daughter and son-in-law Elaine and David Roberts

Graveside services were held July 28 at Lawnwood Memorial park with the Rev. Wayne Rutherford officiating.
