Charles Henry Walker, 84, of Porterdale, died Feb. 11 at Social Circle Health and Rehab. The son of the late W.F. and Annie Barron Walker, he was born in Walton County. Mr. Walker was a member of the Porterdale Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed working with children and supporting them in their church programs. A resident of Porterdale for 23 years, Mr. Walker retired from Hercules Inc. after 20 years of service. He is preceded in death by daughter Raydene Stapp Thomason and brothers J.W. Walker and Bobby Walker. Surviving are wife Grace Pollett Walker of Porterdale; stepson and daughter-in-law Wayne and Louise Pollett of Greensboro; grandchildren Joseph and Dawn Flanigan, Harold Stapp Jr., Ronnie and Lawayne Smith, Waynette Cooler, Larry Wayne Pollett Jr., Steve and Donna Pierce, Tony and Cindy Thomason; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law Mary Holmes of Newborn, Jerry and Mildred Holmes of Social Circle; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Porterdale Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Herndon officiating. Interment will follow in Social Circle Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Floyd Street location of Caldwell & Cowan Thursday, Feb. 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605, or Porterdale Presbyterian Church, P.O.
