Betty Goldman, 73, of Covington died Aug. 4. Daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie Wilson Sonnier, she enjoyed writing poetry and loved her family. Betty has a grandson, Jimmy "Bubba" Crowe, waiting in heaven.

Survivor include her husband, Bennie Goldman; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Paul Brown, Jana and Jimmy Crowe, all of Covington; grandchildren, Betty Jo Brown Campbell, Angie Brown Quillen, Joy Crowe Burke; great-grandchildren, Gemma, Sara Jane, Paul and Tristen; sister, Yvonne Cagle of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Goldman will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, with Brother Kenneth Morrell and Pastor Camille Holmes officiating and internment following at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. 9 a.m. Aug. 6 at the funeral home.
