Mrs. Betty A. McCoy, 76, of West Melbourne, Fla., died Oct. 22 at Heartland Hospice, Conyers. She was born in Oglethorpe County and lived in Rockdale County until 1970 when she moved to Melbourne. She had been self-employed as a health care provider and was a member of First Christian Church, Melbourne. She is preceded in death by husband Clarence T. McCoy; father Obe Smith; mother and step-father Emma Jane and W.L. Andrews.
Surviving are daughters and son-in-law Mary and Robert Southard of Oxford, Betty Meadows of Heber, Utah; grandchildren Christy Roberts, Cindy Winkles, Paul Southard, Robby Southard, Ryan Southard; great-grandchildren Amelia Roberts, Annabelle Roberts, Ezekiel Roberts; sisters and brothers-in-law Jane Linggold of Panama City, Fla., Ruth and Bobby Ingram of Birmingham, Ala., the Rev. A. W. and Gloria Roberts of Jasper; brother Allen J. Smith Sr. of Melbourne; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Beth J. Smith for her loving care of Mrs. McCoy and recognize Stephanie Bannister and Vickie Ritter for their constant support.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 24, in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, with the Rev. Robert Southard and the Rev. A.W. Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at College Park Cemetery.
