Ann Calvert Garvin

Ann Calvert Garvin, 84, of Atlanta, died at her home Dec. 29. Mrs. Garvin was a graduate of Piedmont Nursing School class of 1944. She served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a nurse and achieved the rank of major. She was also a longtime member of the Atlanta Athletic Club. Mrs. Garvin was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dr. Finley Garvin, who was a prominent Atlanta dentist.

She is survived by her son, David Finley Garvin and his wife, Karen; daughter, Danielle Ackley and her husband, John; grandchildren, Nicholas and Isabel Crosby; sister, Mary Jim Ozburn.

Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 2 at the Sunrise Chapel at Arlington Memorial Park. Arrangements by H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 179 Allen Rd., Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328.
