Ms. Angela Smith McGhee died July 4. The daughter of Mrs. Rethia Smith and the late Mr. John Wesley Smith Sr., she was born in 1954 in Fulton County. She was reared in Covington and graduated from Newton High School. She attended Georgia States University and later joined the United States Army. She later joined the United States Air Force from which she retired in 2003. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service. At an early age, she joined James Paschal Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an adult Sunday school teacher, choir member and Vacation Bible School coordinator. Ms. McGhee was preceded in death by husband Mr. Louis McGhee.

Surviving are mother Mrs. Rethia Smith; daughters Mr. and Mrs. Clifton (Carmen) Guinn, Ms. Lisa McGhee, Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Lanisha) Singleton; brother Mr. Christopher Smith; grandchildren Chelsea Guinn, Tykia Grier, Chasidy Guinn, Jayla Singleton, Chyna Guinn, Sean Singleton; mother-in-law Mrs. Loretta McGhee; sisters-in-law Ms. Marie Miles, Ms. Margaret Hayes; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 8 at James Paschal Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwayne Stephens officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
