Albert L. Thompson Jr., 55, of Covington, died July 20. Mr. Thompson worked as a carpenter, was a gun collector and enjoyed hunting and fishing. A loving and devoted husband, father and Paw-Paw, he was preceded in death by father Albert Lamar Thompson Sr. and sisters Evelyn Thompson and Mary Allgood.
Surviving are wife of 36 years Brenda Thompson; children Robert and Brandy Thompson, Melisa and Wade Witcher, all of Covington; grandchildren Chris Glass, Austin Glass, Harley Witcher, Bailey Thompson, Riley Thompson, all of Covington; mother Eulene Thompson of Oxford; sisters and brothers-in-law Carolyn Thompson of Grayson, Patricia and Gene Palmer of Monroe, Rhonda and Sammy Cain of Loganville, Barbara and Claude Fisher of Good Hope, Dorreen and Johnny Wilbanks of Jackson, Margie and Richard Reagan of Conyers; brothers and sisters-in-law Doyle and Jackie Thompson of Monroe, Tony and Kim Thompson of Rutledge, William and Linda Thompson of Oxford, Troy and Donna Thompson of Covington.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 23 in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Pastor David Payne officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
