GULFPORT, Miss. — The Newton County All-Stars 10u and 8u teams left day one of competition at the United States Speciality Sports Association World Series unscathed Wednesday. 

The 8u team defeated a squad from Livingston (Louisiana) 8-3 and followed that victory up with a 15-0 triumph over St. James (Louisiana). Meanwhile, the 10u squad beat ABC (Louisiana) 18-4, and won its 6:45 p.m. game against LPR Rampage. 

The 8u team competes against on Thursday at 11:45 a.m., while the 10u All-Stars will take the field again at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
