At the end of every football season the Newton County Recreation Department’s cheerleading program hosts a cheerleading fest and this year it will be on Saturday, November 1 beginning at 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. at the Newton High School gym.
This year the rec. department wants to turn the competition into a cheer fest, inviting the entire community to come out and watch them compete.
The program is seeking food vendors, merchandise vendors, churches, academic clubs, social clubs, community groups and special event vendors. They are also seeking live musicians to perform as they will have inside and outside space available.
Vendor sign-in and set-up will begin at 8 a.m. They are asking everyone pre-register by Wednesday, October 15 to secure a space. There is a $10 fee per table and vendors must provide their own table.
Donations for the Newton County Miracle League are welcomed but not required.
Expo will be performing. Chereleaders from ages 5-12 will be there and there will be different names for the teams' football cheerleaders with about 20 teams performing.
The Junior varsity and freshman team of Newton will be assisting with Indian Creek Middle also coached by Stacy Cleary. The NHS band and cheerleaders will also be performing.
