GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Two team officials familiar with the deal say The New York Knicks have traded Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Atlanta Hawks for the rights to Notre Dame point guard Jerian Grant.
Grant was selected with the 19th pick in the NBA draft on Thursday night, in a spot the Washington Wizards traded to the Hawks along with two future second-round picks to move up four slots for rights to Kansas guard Kelly Oubre.
The team officials for the Knicks and Hawks spoke on condition of anonymity because the teams had not publicly announced their trade, which still required clearance from the NBA.
Grant averaged 16.5 points, 3 rebounds and 6.7 assists for the Fighting Irish last season, leading Notre Dame to the Elite Eight.
