Georgia's Crowell suspended

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Isaiah Crowell and two other Georgia running backs have been suspended for Saturday's game against New Mexico State for unspecified violations of team rules.

Another tailback, Richard Samuel, who scored the decisive touchdown for Georgia in last week's win over Florida, is expected to miss at least four weeks after surgery on his left ankle on Tuesday.

The suspensions of Crowell, the starter, Ken Malcome and Carlton Thomas were announced after Richt's weekly news conference on Tuesday.

The suspensions and Samuel's injury almost completely wipe out the depth chart for No. 18 Georgia for this week. Third-year sophomore Brandon Harton, who has 11 carries for 33 yards, could start.
