COVINGTON, Ga. — In football country, it seems that once spring ball arrives, it’s pretty much downhill from there until the beginning of the season.

If that’s the case, the downhill slide begins in seven weeks for area football teams.

The Tigers released their spring schedule Tuesday, denoting spring practices to begin on Wednesday May 2, and continuing May 16 with a spring game scrimmage at Woodland-Stockbridge to culminate things on Thursday May 17.

Eastside and Newton will follow a similar schedule, with the exception that Eastside will not hold any kind of culminating spring game or scrimmage. Meanwhile, Newton will begin it’s spring drills on May 4, continuing the weeks of May 7 and May 14, and will finish spring ball with a scrimmage against Salem.

Meanwhile, Social Circle’s spring season will begin on May 7 and conclude with a spring game at Walnut Grove on May 18.
