Eastside defeated Walnut Grove in the second game of the series, Friday night winning 4-1 to remain unbeaten in Region 8-AAAA.

Peyton Pallay won his seventh with a complete game effort, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out eight.

The Eagles wasted no time, posting a pair of runs as Cody Walker drew a leadoff walk followed by Pallay’s single. Walker scored on Daniel Garrett and Pallay scored on a passed ball.

A leadoff double by the Warriors in the fourth was followed by a sharp line drive up the middle that was snagged by Pallay for the out, but took him off his feet. Confusion ensued as Pallay threw to second in an attempt to double-up the runner, but the Eastside defense was unaware that the ball was caught for the out and as they threw the ball around the diamond, the runner scored from second for the only Walnut Grove run of the game.

The Eagles would not score again until the fifth as Musashi Briem drew a walk and Drew Buckhault doubled to collect the RBI. Eastside added an insurance run in the sixth as Hank Steele crossed the plate after being moved to third on a single by Evan House and being driven home on a Walker sac-fly.

With a 4-1 lead, Pallay finished off the Warriors in the seventh.
