Between the boys and the girls game, Eastside celebrated its seniors in the final regular season home game of the season. The seniors didn’t disappoint the fans and parents in attendance as both the boys and the girls recorded important region victories over Walnut Grove.
The Lady Eagles (10-13, 9-6 Region 4-AAAA) beat Walnut Grove 57-49, but the game was tight even in the final minutes.
In a game full of lead changes, Eastside took a six point lead off of a Raynesha Clay layup and finished off the game to beat Walnut Grove and keep its second place spot in the sub-region.
Clay led Eastside with 14 points and Janelle Cook was close behind with 12 points.
The guys fed off the momentum of the girls and the senior night festivities and beat the Warriors (15-9, 7-2 Region 4-AAAA) 67-57. It really wasn’t that close of a game, the Eagles led by 20 at one point in the fourth and Walnut Grove climbed back in it late, but to no avail.
Isaiah Miller scored 21 points and Jaridquez Smith added 11.
