Covington Post 32 As roll past Loganville
Gray-Ritchey---July-112015-vs
Gray Ritchey.

The Covington Post 32 A’s traveled to Loganville this past weekend to face the Post #233 team and came out on top of a lopsided 19-3 victory. Gray Ritchey took the mound for the A’s and had a solid outing allowing 8 hits and 1 earned run over 6 innings of work, while striking out 5 batters and walking just 1 batter.

The Covington squad garnered 15 hits in the game with Hank Steele (Middle Georgia) and Bryce Shupe (ABAC) pacing the team with four hits each. Blake Shope (Alcovy) and Josh Fellows (GCSU) each collected a pair hits while Dalton Reagin (W. Georgia), Jordon Scott (IMG Academy) and Chase Raines (Eastside) each added a hit to the offensive barrage.

While the temperatures were in the low 90’s, Coach Dallas commented that it would do the team good to play under hot conditions in preparation for the upcoming State Tournament on July 23rd.

Reagin came on in the seventh inning to relieve Ritchey and close out the game. Reagin struck out three batters, walked one and gave up two hits in his one inning on the hill.

The Covington Post 32 team faced Conyers Post #77 in a stormy affair on Tuesday this week. Post 32 climbed back into the game late in the seventh inning, but the game ended in a tie (8-8).
