Bulldogs stay at No. 1

The Georgia High School Class AAAAAA state poll remained mostly unchanged this week after the poll's top-10 teams wenta combined 6-1 last week.

North Gwinnett stayed atop of the poll once again this week, while Mill Creek fell two spots after falling to Peachtree Ridge by a point.

The Bulldogs remained in the top spot after defeated Meadowcreek 63-0 to remain a perfect 4-0 this season.
McEachern held on to the No. 2 position with an impressive 43-40 victory over former poll member Marietta. Colquitt County benefited from a bye week this week before next week's contest against No. 10 Lowndes.

Peachtree Ridge and Mill Creek squared off in the week's only top-10 match-up, with Peachtree Ridge holding on 31-30 over the Hawks for the home victory.

The loss dropped Mill Creek to No. 7 overall, while Hillgrove and Camden County had bye weeks last week.

Valdosta cemented their spot in the top-10 at No. 9 this week, handling Newton 41-14 at home. The Wilcats jumped up one spot from No. 10 overall last week.

Lowndes rounded out the final spot in the poll. besting Hardaway 63-0 last Friday. The Vikings have scored 150 unanswered points after falling 15-14 to the Rams on Sept. 6.

Class AAAA
In the Class AAAA poll, Sandy Creek once again remained at No. 1 with 20 out of 20 possible first place votes.

The Fighting Patriots return to action this week against Fayette County after a bye week last Friday.

Carrollton, Griffin, Stockbridge and Monroe Area remained in the top-5 of the poll.

The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes moved to 4-0 on the year with a 49-3 victory over region opponent Lumpkin County last Friday.

Statesboro and Wayne County both improved their positions in the poll, moving up to No. 6 and No. 7 overall.

Entering the poll this week was Cedartown and Marist. Ceadartown claimed a 36-14 victory over Ridgeland last Friday to move to 4-0 overall, while Marist sits 2-2 overall after a 67-6 victory over Therrell last week.
