Race Against Violence
Sponsored by the Rockdale County Task Force Against Family Violence, the 5K road race and fun run will be at 8 a.m. and begin and end a the First United Methodist Church, Main Street. Derek Marchman at

Domestic Violence Awareness 5K Run/Walk
Rockdale/Newton County Chapter of the Georgia Federation of Democratic Women, in partnership with Hannah's Angel Center, will hold a community walk/run to raise funds to support domestic violence prevention. Starting 8 a.m., Georgia International Horse Park. (770) 602-2606.


CMS Cleanup
Conyers Middle School PTA invites volunteers to help clean and plant on school grounds in the "CMS Bulldog Pride" day 8 a.m. – noon. (678) 522-8319.


Rivers Alive
The community cleanup will begin at Pine Log Pavilion, 1451 Pine Log Road, at 7:30 a.m. Free lunch, supplies and T shirt. RSVP by Oct. 14.

Olde Town Fall Festival
Presented by the city of Conyers and Conyers Main Street Program, the festival has free admission to more than 90 vendors with food and children’s activities. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (770) 602-2606.


Picnic in the Park
Panola Mountain State Park will host a Picnic in the Park day from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Panola State Park with outdoor activities such as geocaching and walking shelter dogs, as well as a free picnic. For more information, tonsoffun.org.


October to Remember
 An October to Remember festival will be held at Johnson Park, 1781 Ebenezer Road, from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Games, dancing contest and more. Free and open to the public; food sold by vendors. (678) 642-2478. 
 

Greater Atlanta Marching Festival
Rockdale County High School hosts the 34th Annual Greater Atlanta Marching Festival. The competition begins at noon with18 marching bands. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 under 12 years old, children under 3 years old are free. 770-367-7908


RCHS Class of 1976 Reunion
