IN BRIEF: After a hearing on whether or not to issue a warrant for a former Alpha Academy principal on sexual battery charges, Rockdale County Supreme Court Chief Judge David Irwin made a decision not to issue the warrant due to lack of probable cause.

The March 5 hearing had evidence presented by Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Investigator Grote Levett, including testimony from witnesses and teachers both in support of the allegations and not in support of the allegations. The former principal, Greg Brown, was reportedly present at the hearing as well.

Brown had resigned from his position effective Feb. 27.
