Rain didn't dampen the enthusiasm for the Kimberley Chance Atkins Foundation's 8-mile Walk with Angels Saturday morning in Olde Town Conyers.

Roughly 100 walkers completed the course, and along with sponsors, raised $40,000 for local breast cancer awareness, prevention and treatment initiatives. Team WSA (Women's Service Association) led the charge posting $8,170 for their team total, and Breast Friends were close behind with $7,784.

"All the money goes right here in our community -  we give vouchers to the hospital for women who cannot afford mammographies," KCAF's Jean Yontz told the crowd. "We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You saved a life today."
