The annual Family Christian Camp, "TRI TÂM GIAO," returned to Conyers for the fifth year, the second time held at Camp Westminster off Lake Rockaway Road.

The camp's unique family-camp style aimed to bring families together with the purpose of creating a Christ-centered, safe, fun and friendly environment for Vietnamese Christians of all ages from Vietnamese churches in the metro Atlanta area.

Normally, the family camp is held over Labor Day weekend, but this year, the camp was pushed back and took place the weekend of Sept. 28-30. Now in its fifth year, the family camp has grown with more attendees each year.

Ha Nguyen, of the Marietta Alliance church and one of this year's camp organizers, said this year's attendance is greater than last year with approximately 150 campers from throughout metro Atlanta and as far as North Carolina.

Nguyen said, "In addition to the increase in attendance, we have some campers this year who have come who don't belong to any particular church."

Youth Pastor Maurice Long of the Morrow Alliance church has been attending for three years.

"One of the things that I really enjoyed with this year's theme of Christ Lives in Me was the opportunity we got to hear from some of the youth," said Long. "That was really a blast to see what God is doing in their lives."
