On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month every year, Americans pause to remember and honor the service of military men and women throughout the ages. Here are a few events coming up to honor and support veterans.
American Legion Post 77
The American Legion Post 77 in Conyers is holding a Veteran's Day Ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 11, starting at 10:30 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public. In addition to the ceremony, a complimentary light lunch will be served.
The ceremony will take place at the Post 77 Legion Hall, 674 Legion Road NE, Conyers, off of Ga. Highway 138 N, next to Green Meadows Cemetery. For more information, call (770) 483-8216
Redeeming Love Christian Ministries
Also on Sunday, Redeeming Love Christian Ministries church would like to honor veterans and military families with a special service and recognition at 10:30 a.m. at the Redeeming Love Christian Ministries Church at 1931 Old Covington Road.
During the service, there will be a posting of the flag, a special reading thanking veterans for their service, a PowerPoint presentation with their picture, name, and branch of service, their picture displayed on a wall of honor outside of the sanctuary, a special reading for the wives and family members of those veterans and light refreshments afterwards.

Support for military families, veterans
The Listening Ear Counseling Center is holding a special event with workshops, guest speaker and luncheon to honor military families and address suicide in the military.
On Saturday, Nov. 17, they host "Mental and Emotional Wellness: from the Battlefield to the Homefront" 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Nancy Guinn Library, 864 Green Street SW, Conyers. It is open to the public and military family members are strongly encouraged to come. Lunch is provided; RSVP at (770) 929-1470 or listeningear@bellsouth.net.
Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner for veterans/seniors
