A vehicle crashed headlong into a tree in a single car accident on Irwin Bridge Road on Saturday night, sending the driver and passenger to the hospital.
The accident reportedly occurred around 9:45 p.m. on a stretch of Irwin Bridge Road between Sigman and Farmer Roads, according to the Rockdale County Fire Department spokesperson Deputy Chief Mike Lee.The patients, one woman and one man, were extricated from the wreck.
The vehicle reportedly ploughed so deeply into the tree, the trunk was pushing into driver's and passenger's compartment. One of the patients was life-flighted to a trauma hospital and one was taken by ambulance.
