UPDATE (Feb. 9, 7 a.m.) No delay has been announced for RCPS schools.
------------------------------------
(Feb. 8, 5:52 p.m.) There's a 90 percent chance of snow after midnight tonight, but less than an inch accumulation is expected, according to the National Weather Service.
Expect rain after 7 p.m., then all snow after 1 a.m., with a low of 31. Any snowfall should be short-lived, with a high of 45 on Thursday.
The Rockdale County School System will be monitoring the situation, and RCPS transporation experts will be out and looking at the roads starting at 4 a.m., according to RCPS spokesperson Cindy Ball.
"We like to make a decision by 5:30 a.m. but that also may need to be flexible depending on the elements and the current and/or developing conditions at that time," wrote Ball.
Plentiful sun is in the forecast Friday through Sunday, with a high of 50 on Friday, warming to 56 degrees on Saturday and 63 on Sunday.
