A Conyers man was arrested after two people were shot at a party held in Rockdale County early Sunday morning.

Dispatchers received a call of persons shot at a home in the 100 block of Woodward Circle around 1:45 a.m., according to Rockdale County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lt. Myra Pearell.

Deputies arrived to find that one person had been shot in the back, one shot in the hand and one victim was beaten. The victim who was shot in the back was transported by medical helicopter to Grady Hospital and is currently listed in good condition. The victim who was beaten was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center. His condition is not known at this time. The victim who was shot in the hand refused transportation to a hospital.

Investigators determined that the shooting occured after an argument between two groups at the party. One of the groups left the party and reportedly returned to attack others who had remained.

A little later that morning, investigators tracked down and arrested Taylor Blackerby, 19, of Conyers, who had left the party by the time deputies arrived. He faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault, one count of burglary, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The investigation is ongoing, according to Pearell, and more charges stemming from the fight are possible.
