Two Conyers families had a fortune-filled holiday as they hit the jackpot in the Georgia lottery.

David Anthony Sr. won $391,446 from matching all five winning numbers in the Dec. 8 Fantasy 5 drawing.

"That'll help tremendously," the grandfather of six exclaimed.

Anthony purchased his Quik Pik ticket at Shell Food Mart, 14656 Browns Bridge Road in Covington. Winning numbers from the Dec. 8 drawing were: 5-22-27-29-37.

"When I saw it, I didn't believe it," he said. "I told my wife, and she screamed."

He and his wife, Sandra, anticipate paying off their home mortgage.

"I feel pretty good," Anthony said.

The Shell Food Mart  that sold the winning ticket will receive an $8,000 retailer incentive bonus.

The Ballas family were the other big Conyers winners this holiday weekend.

Chris Ballas, 30, who runs the Roly Poly Sandwich Shop with his mother Jeanine Ballas, won $250,000 last month playing the Georgia Lottery's holiday-themed Season's Greetings instant game.

According to Ballas, he sent his mother to the store to purchase a ticket. His mother also scratched it for him, he said. Texaco Plaza, 1410 Klondike Road S.W. in Conyers, sold the top prize winner.

"She was calm about it," Ballas said. "Of course I was happy."

The lucky lottery winner plans to purchase a new home with his prize.

"It will be a nice addition for the holiday season," he said.
