It is so much harder this year. Trying to find just the right gift has become a real challenge. My list of ideas has been refined (translation: reduced) so many times, that I'm dragging my feet about wrapping and giving presents. Several times, I've been standing in lines, wondering if my purchases will generate any surprises.
Still unsure, I bring my bags in the house. My endlessly enthusiastic Dachshund, Dipstick, is running circles around my feet, waiting to be greeted. As I bend down to pet her, I notice a shiny copper object between her teeth. The penny, delicately placed between her front teeth, is proudly dropped into my hands.
It's not always about the gift.
Dear Lord,
Please help me remember to always give from my heart.
2 Cor 9:7."Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Cor 9:7 NIV).
