Players from all over Georgia will get the chance to tee off against the state's top teens Friday in the 10th annual Teens on the Green tournament.

The Arnold Palmer-designed Cherokee Run Golf Club will host the event, which is a regional qualifier for the Teens on the Green World Championship to be held at the PGA National Resort in Palm Springs, Fla. on Dec. 19-23.

Tee time for participating juniors (ages 11-19) is at 8 a.m., while the Adult and Celebrity Challenge begins at 1 p.m. All golfers that sign up and play will receive lunch and dinner, a Teens on the Green golf shirt, a package of Bridgestone golf balls, trophies for the winners and some will get access to the event gala at the W Hotel in downtown Atlanta.

Local celebrities in attendance will include Peachtree TV personality J.J. Johnson, former WNBA player Rushia Brown, MTV's Darnell Robinson and many more.

The top male and female golfer from the event, which also marks the opening of the Teens on the Green Foundation Academy, will score a trip to the championships later this year and a pair of Oakley sunglasses. All juniors who shoot lower than the best celebrity participant will earn back to school gift certificates that can be used at Georgia Office Depot locations.

Entry is $40 for juniors and $200 for adults, and sign up forms are available at www.teensonthegreen.com.
