Teen arrested after throwing mailbox at man from car

A 41-year-old man received serious injuries after a mailbox was thrown from a moving vehicle on McDaniel Mill Road in the evening hours of June 2.

The man was able to walk to the fire station on Hurst Road and give a description of the vehicle from which the mailbox was thrown. Deputies responded to the incident immediately and were able to question the witness.

Warrants were later issued for 19-year-old James Milton Lewis II, of 19298 Saint James Drive, Conyers for aggravated assault, theft by taking, destruction of mailboxes/mail and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He was arrested on June 8. A juvenile was also charged with obstruction of a police officer and driving without a license in the case.
