A Dacula man was arrested and charged by Rockdale County Sheriff's Office investigators for an Aug. 14 bank robbery of a Conyers SunTrust Bank and is believed to be tied to two other Atlanta area bank robberies.
Tierry Paul Brazier, 25, of 1500 Brisbane Drive, Dacula, was charged with the armed robbery of the SunTrust Bank at 3590 Ga. Highway 20 South, Conyers.
Brazier is believed to have entered the bank around 3:15 p.m., approached the teller and handed her a note telling her that he was armed and was going to rob the bank. After the teller complied with his demand, the suspect fled the bank on foot, but was later seen on video surveillance leaving in a dark colored minivan. Investigators canvassed the area but were unable to locate the minivan or Brazier.
Brazier's arrest was the result of hard work by RCPS investigators, but it was a tip from a citizen in Cobb County that helped break the case. A citizen at a Cobb County bank robbery that occurred a few days earlier had provided investigators with a partial tag number of a suspicious vehicle leaving the bank.
The vehicle was believed to be the vehicle driven by Brazier after attempting an armed robbery of a SunTrust Bank in Cobb County, Ga on August, 12.
"It just goes to show you the importance of being aware of your surroundings and how your observations can lead to the faster resolution of a case," said Sheriff Jeff Wigington.
Brazier is also suspected in another armed robbery that occurred on Aug. 12 at SunTrust Bank in Hiram, Ga.
