The Heritage Patriots celebrated homecoming in grand style with a victory over the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs by a final score of 23-13 at Evans Memorial Stadium.

With the win, Heritage moves to 4-2 overall and adds another all-important region victory to its resume, moving their record to 3-1 in region play. Winder-Barrow falls 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the region.

The story of the game was the offensive line of Heritage and its junior running back C.J. Stone. Stone totaled more than 130 yards on the ground and scored on runs of 36- and 4-yards.

With 16 seconds left in the second quarter, senior quarterback Ryan Sutton connected with junior wide receiver Ryan Phillips on a 37-yard pass, leading to Stone's score from four yards out.

Senior kicker Austin Kulp also added three field goals from 18-, 25- and 36-yards on the night to continue his impressive season.

The Patriots came out hungry on homecoming and stayed focused on both sides of the ball throughout the game in order to come away with this victory.

"No one likes to lose their homecoming," said Heritage coach Mike Parris. "Our boys fought hard all night long, even when things weren't going right for us. We were able to pull out another tough and important region victory."
