Three high school seniors were honored today for their academic achievement as STAR students by the Conyers Rotary Club. 

Solomon Lee Sallas, a senior at Salem, Claire Ginnane, a senior at Heritage, and Vaidehi Biren Joshi, a senior at the Rockdale Magnet school, were recognized as the students with the highest SAT scores and were in the top 10 percent of their class.

Each student also nominated a STAR teacher: Heritage teacher Joanna Anglin, who teaches AP English, Salem English teacher Heather Hartly, and Rockdale Magnet School teacher Dr. Chuck Garner, who teaches Calculus to 11th and 12th grade and serves as the advisor to the Math Club, were nominated as STAR teachers by their respective students.

Joshi, a senior in the Rockdale Magnet School, was also named by the Conyers Rotary Club as the district's STAR student and will go on to the regional competition.
