Snow fall on Rockdale Friday afternoon and evening led to scheduling changes in two area tournaments.
The first round of the Region 8-AAAA boy's basketball tournament, which was originally scheduled for Friday at Salem High School has been pushed back to Saturday.
Salem is hosting three games in the first round, while other rounds will take place at Monroe Area High beginning on Tuesday.
The first game was scheduled for 5 p.m., pitting Heritage against Cedar, followed by Loganville vs. Habersham and Salem vs. Apalachee on Friday.
The first round of the girl's tournament is also being played in Rockdale, hosted by Heritage High school. As of Friday, the tournament was still on as scheduled on Saturday.
While the two high school tournaments are played indoors, another tournament was scheduled for the softball fields of Rockdale County.
The Tin Laster Fastpitch softball tournament is scheduled for this weekend, with the exception of Friday's game.
Mississippi Valley State and Florida A&M were set to meet at 4 p.m. Friday, but snow forced the game to be cancelled.
The tournament directors will wait until Saturday morning to make a decision on the rest of the schedule.
