A few snapshots of service events from around the county including:

2010 Empty Stocking Fund event by the Conyers and Rockdale Rotary Clubs on Dec. 11, 2010 at the Conyers Target; about 200 children were escorted by volunteer shopper

2010 Shop with a Cop by the Conyers Police Department on Dec. 18, 2010, at the Conyers Wal-Mart; about 90 children were escorted by CPD officers and RCSO deputies to shop for gifts. About $9,500 was raised, $3,000 of which was donated by Wal-Mart.

Springfield Baptist Church gave away more than 100,000 pounds of food to about 1,200 families from Dec. 17-19, 2010 at the Salem Gate shopping plaza in space given free of rent by Triland Properties.

First Baptist Church of Conyers delivered more than 17,500 jeans, far exceeding the 10,000 jean goal, that were collected throughout the community to homeless shelters across the metro Atlanta area by Dec. 18, 2010.

The Rockdale Coalition for Children and Families Hope for the Holidays campaign collected toys and gifts for families in need, which were picked up Dec. 17-18, 2010 at 1400 Parker Road.
