IN BRIEF: Rockdale County residents and parents who are not able to attend school board meetings will soon be able to see and hear what is discussed when leaders move forward with recordings of board meetings online.
Superintendent Richard Autry announced during the school board's regular work session Oct. 17 that a link to recorded board meetings will be posted on the school system's website.
Board meetings had been videotaped in the past and there had been previous discussion to have the meetings online for the public. However, Autry attributed problems with the video server connection as cause for the delay.
"After tonight, these will be posted on our website for public review," Autry told the board Thursday night.
School board members watched a snippet of its last previously recorded board meeting. Afterwards, Autry added that Rockdale Career Academy broadcast instructor James Dinsmoore will make recommendations to enhance or clean up the video recordings.
The school board will evaluate the video recordings for the next three months, according to Autry, to decide if they will continue posting the meetings.
