The National Weather Service in Peachtree City issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook statement for north and central Georgia describing scattered thunderstorms with possible gusty winds, hail and lighting after 2 p.m.
"A weak disturbance moving across the central gulf coast will enter the state this afternoon while a front lingers across the eastern half of the state," read the statement.
Tonight the forecast is mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms early, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the evening. Lows around 60. Light and variable winds, chance of rain 30 percent.
On Wednesday, the forecast is partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s, west winds 10 to 15 mph with a chance of rain 30 percent.
