Runners and riders, heads up - there are two worthy events happening in town Saturday, June 6.

The inaugural Savage Run/Walk 5k/1m, takes place starting at 8 a.m., at CJ Hicks Elementary, 1300 Pine Log Rd. The 1 mile event starts at 8 a.m. The 5K event starts at 8:30 a.m. The event is in memory of RCHS student Jordan Savage who died last year after a lifelong battle with lupus. Five years after the death of Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Investigator Brian Mahaffey, a husband and father of two who was killed in the line of duty, his family and friends hold the Fourth Annual Brian Mahaffey Memorial Ride, starting and ending at Falcons Fury Harley Davidson in Conyers.
