The Salem Seminoles opened the 2012-13 basketball season with wins in each of its two games Friday, bouncing Meadowcreek from the Salem gym.
The girls got things started off with a 58-42 victory, before yeilding the court to the boys team under the guidance of first year coach Noah Harrell.
Salem's boys team trailed late in the game, before rallying for a 79-77 win thanks to Ahmad Mitchell's driving layup.
Dedrick Turner led the way with 26 points, Jamal Garror added 19 and Amham had 10.
“From the standpoint of being my first game, it was a nice way to have my first game go,” Harrell said.
