The Rockdale County Republican Party held a Patriot's Day celebration at the Whistle Post, commemorating the ninth anniversary of Sept. 11. Guests and candidates invited to the event included Senator Johnny Isakson, who stopped by briefly, former Labor Commissioner candidate Melvin Everson, Post II Commissioner JaNice VanNess, fourth congressional district candidate Liz Carter, eighth congressional district candidate Austin Scott, State Senate district 43 candidate Diana Williams, State House district 95 candidate Rodney Upton, State House district 94 candidate Steven Conner.
