Saturday was a proud day for many employees of Rockdale County Fire-Rescue. On June 15, RCFR held a Promotional/Graduation ceremony for 78 employees at Conyers First United Methodist Church in Olde Town Conyers. The personnel promoted ranged from the position of Relief Driver through Battalion Chief. This is the largest number of personnel promoted at one time in RCFR history.

In all, there were:
• 25 Firefighters promoted to Relief Driver
• 20 Relief Drivers promoted to Fire Apparatus Operator(FAO)
• 14 FAOs promoted to Lieutenant
• 4 Lieutenants promoted to Captain
• 1 Captain Promoted to Battalion Chief

In addition to all of the above mentioned personnel being promoted, RCFR also celebrated the graduation of "Recruit Class 1301." This in-house recruit training began on February 4 and was an intense training schedule that lasted 14 weeks. All personnel that graduated from this recruit school emerged with valuable credentialing certificates.
