Each year the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety hosts an event and safety seat check to kick off National Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week. This year, The University of Georgia’s Traffic Injury Prevention Institute (GTIPI), located here in Conyers, is hosting "Rockdale County Safety Day" on Saturday, September 12 at the First Baptist Church of Conyers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free child safety seat checks, senior driver safety checks, as well as numerous public safety demonstrations by local agencies will be available to the public throughout the day.
