Registered nurse Katie Hall was named Rockdale Medical Center's employee of the year.

The Surgical East nurse received a plaque, pin, designated parking space and $500 for her efforts with her patients.

"This is home for me," Hall said. "I enjoy working with everybody. My patients are truly what drives me to do what I do."

Aside from working at the RMC, Hall was also born in the facility 26 years ago.

She thanked her parents for instilling the values that carried her into nursing.

"I have great parents who raised me up in a Christian home, and taught me to be nice, be kind and always put others first over yourself."
