RCSO trying to identify armed robber caught on camera

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) is currently seeking help to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred this weekend.

The unknown black male suspect can be seen on surveillance video brandishing a semiautomatic handgun and demanding money from the store clerk of Corner Mart Chevron convenience store, at 2302 Ebenezer Road, Rockdale County, around 11:56 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15. 

The suspect left the store on foot with a store employee firing at the suspect as he fled. It’s not known if the employee made contact with the gunshots. The suspect did not appear to have a vehicle and likely fled on foot toward the Biltmore Estates area.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Sergeant Michael Cobb with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office at 770-278-8154.
