RCPS now accepting applications for Pre-K

Rockdale County Public Schools is accepting application for the county Pre-K program Monday, April 20, through Friday, May 1, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the main office, 1143 West Avenue. Registration is open to students who turn 4 years old on or before Sept. 1.

Rockdale County Public Schools offers the Pre-k program at nine schools, with each school serving 20 students. To fill the spots, students are selected by a lottery, which is set for Tuesday, May 5. Students not selected on May 5 will be place on a
waiting list.

To register students, parents are required to provide the child's birth certificate, social security card, certificate of immunization, and an eye/ear/dental certificate. Parents or guardians also are required to show a photo identification, proof of custody or guardianship if the person registering the student is not the birth parent and one of the following: a lease agreement with a utility bill, a lease agreement with an automobile registration, property tax receipt with a utility bill, or a property tax receipt with an automobile registration.
