Need to spruce up your home for the holidays? Rockdale Career Academy students are holding their annual Holiday Plant and Greenery Sale, featuring handmade wreaths and holiday decorations.

Agriculture Instructor and FFA (Future Farmers of America) Advisor Kevin Surrette teaches the 90 students who will be working on the greenery items. These students have learned how to operate the machinery, construct bows and apply basic principles of design. According to Surrette, students will “gain skills in sales and marketing, inventory management, quality control and customer service. Detailed records are kept concerning orders, pricing, sales, deliveries and payments.”

Proceeds from sales of wreaths and other greenery items are directed back to the students in the form of classroom/lab supplies and equipment as well as being administered through the FFA chapter by providing leadership activities and training.
