A Conyers man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after the two met on an online dating service.

Jason Gentles, 38, is being charged with aggravated sodomy, rape and sexual battery for allegedly forcing the 27-year-old woman to have sex with him Friday, May 8.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m., inside Gentles' residence at 3411 Salem Mill Trail in Conyers. The two individuals met on a dating website and agreed to get dinner together that night.

"It started off as a pretty normal date night," said Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Cpl. Michael Camp.

After the dinner, the woman, who wasn't familiar with the area and didn't live in Rockdale County, thought Gentles was driving her back to her place, says Camp, but he drove them back to his place and the two went inside.

"He basically forced his way on top of the female victim," said Camp. No weapons were reportedly used.

The following morning, the woman reported to the incident to the RCSO.

Gentles was arrested May 11 at his place of employment, a local barbershop.

He's waiting for his case to be heard in Superior Court to have a bond set for his two felony charges, aggravated sodomy and rape. A $50,000 bond was set for his sexual battery charge, which is a misdemeanor, in Magistrate Court.
