Piedmont Academy administrators announced the private Covington school will be closed Friday due to a significant portion of the student body out with the H1N1 virus.

On Thursday, 61 students -- 17 percent of students -- did not come to school because of the virus.

School officials are urging parents to tell their children about the importance of washing their hands.
