In the next couple of weeks the Rockdale Board of Commissioners will be receiving the tax information they need to begin discussing the property tax rate.

Last year the majority of the commissioners couldn't bring themselves to make the necessary cuts in order not to raise the mileage rates for citizens of the county.
This time around, if you don't want the same thing to happen, you should let them know now.

There is no reason why any government or school authority should not operate within their means during these slow economic times.

That is nothing less than what any business has to do in this horrific business economic slowdown.

We are against raising mileage rates for any reason at this time; we are sure a majority of our readers feel the same way.

Now is the time to let your elected officials know your feelings; not later, when it is too late.
