Our thoughts: Small business

It's not easy to operate any business in today's economic mess. Many good people have not been able to survive the crisis.

That is why we think it is a good thing that our local chamber still takes the time for the local small business entrepreneur that has made the necessary adjustments to survive.

We have no doubt that we will someday soon see that magical light at the end of the tunnel and when we do it will be the small businesses that will lead the way.

This year chamber members honored Elly Dalton an Edward Jones Financial advisor with its coveted Jerry Barboe Small Business Person award.

Dalton, in addition to operating her business has found time to give of herself to volunteer in her community.

We salute Elly Dalton and Dotti Bala, Copy Central and Dr. Fred Hedrick for being picked as runner-ups in the Chambers selection.
