Our Thoughts: School Lunches

Since the beginning of the school lunch program, we are sure that kids have complained and made jokes about cafeteria food; it is a right of growing up. The truth is that when you look back most of the food served was pretty good compared to the old peanut butter and jelly sandwiches brought from home.

We were looking at the new school menu that is to be offered at Rockdale schools this year and all we can say is Yuck and double Yuck and we don't even have to eat in the cafeteria.

Now before the good folks in our school cafeterias get up in arms and think we are saying that they don't do a good job, stop, we think you guys do a great job with what you are ordered to work with.

The Obama administration under the leadership of Michelle Obama has jammed this nonfat concept down the throats of school children and their parents across the nation.

The purpose of serving lunches to children in schools is to give them nourishment and sustenance to keep their minds active and in full learning mode.

To change lunch menus because a minority of so called experts led by the First Lady says so is wrong.

We keep hoping that the majority of people in this country wake up some day and stop letting these minority hypocrites dictate how we are going to lead our lives and our children's lives.

We recommend you pack a good wholesome lunch for your child this year.
